This week marked the first 2011 car show at Marks Auto Parts in East Granby CT. Marks Classic Cruise night takes place on Monday’s and brings in a tremendous amount of cars. 650 high quality classic cars showed up Monday for the show.

I’m personally undecided about how well Fiat may or may not do coming back to the US. I look at the Fiat 500 and think for me at 6’2, it would appear a little small. On the other hand I’m really interested in the performance of the car. The car only packs 100hp but the car itself weighs half the of a mid 90’s honda civic which had only a few pony’s more.

Tom’s foreign got a chance to visit the 2011 IT Show this year that was hosted at LaPoint Discount Auto Parts. The Annual IT show is put on by Bill Weaver and is hosted at salvage yards around the country. Each year the show is hosted at a different Automotive Recycling facility. Those from the recycling industry that attend are able to see a different salvage yard every year.

Everyone loves a little rental car carnage. Its good to see some of the guys over at Car and Driver having a little fun. They got a chance to take out 4 rentals including a Lincoln Town Car, Cadillac CTS4, Ford Mustang Convertible, and a Jeep Compass. They came up with a set of challenges and went at it. Check it out!

The iPad 2 is scheduled to ship in just 1 week. I felt this would be the perfect time to go over some iOS apps for the auto industry. Theres obviously endless uses for you iPod, iPhone, and iPad and endless reason why you use it or are possibly considering buying a new one (ipad 2). Not many people realize that when you take a break from playing Angry Birds for 7 hours straight, you can actually use your iDevice for something automotive.

If you’ve been eye balling a new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution for a while, it’s time to make the purchase or forever hold your peace. Mitsubishi will be pulling the Evo from it’s line up of mid level cars not many people want to drive. The companies global product director, Gayu Eusegi claims “There is still a demand, but we must stop”. “Our influence now is EV technology” explained Eusegi.
