Current Mercedes Diesel drivers beware, your car could be at risk. Mercedes-Benz has issued a fuel filter recall for many of its late model BlueTEC diesel vehicles. This is for a defect in the fuel filter that could lead to a leak. The leaking fuel filter could potentially leak diesel fuel on the road causing an accident or in some cases ignite from an ignition source and cause a fire.

So as car companies fight for popularity and try to win over everyone’s heart I want to know what car company do you like the most?  Which company really grabs your eyes when you see that car going down the road. You think this may be an easy decision to make just because you love the car you drive but this isn’t always the case. I love my Nissan Murano that I have been driving for about a year now, I had a Nissan Altima coupe before that. I guess you can say I am a Nissan guy because I have owned two so far but that isn’t the case.

AAA Announced this week their going to have trucks with mobile charging stations. This is in response to the EV anxiety for people with battery powered cars and their limited range.  The Nissan leaf only gets about 100 mpg,  that doesn’t leave much room for error when keeping your car charged and going on drives and having to stay under the 100 mile range.

In my free time searching around the net for more car information to fill the mushy little noodle in my head with I came across Chevy’s beloved Volt. I started reading into it and I wanted to know why the Volt was so much more different from the rest of the Hybrid cars on the market; I soon found out why. The volt is a zero emission out of the tail pipe vehicle with a battery that will last about 35 miles.

So I have been mulling over the idea of getting a more fuel efficient car. I drive a 2010 Nissan Murano right now and driving back and forth to work everyday is starting to put a damper on my wallet. Every time I fill up its about 70 smackers right to the face and wallet. Don’t get me wrong though I love the Murano and on long trips it is a very comfortable car to be driving it’s just the wallet that suffers.

New York city is adding another electric hybrid to there fleet, the Chevy Volt. This is a portion of there 70 car order. This will save the city a lot of money in the long run when it comes to rising gas prices. The only problem I see happening is the cars 35 mile battery range and the New York stop and go traffic. This really doesn’t give the car enough time to fire up the gasoline engine so I wonder what the real mileage range will be of these cars in the traffic conditions.

General Motors has delivered 23 2011 Caprice cop cars to the US. These are Australian built cars built by GM’s Holden brand and shipped to the states. The 23 delivered so far are non pursuit detective models with no word on how many more will be brought over or where they’ll be going. GM did confirm that pursuit models will far out weight the detective models in the very close future.
