Praised members of the IEEE believe that driverless cars will be the catalyst for changing forms of transportation from what we know it as today. Intersections, traffic flow, highways and the necessity for driver’s licenses will change over the course of the next 28 years.

Stefan Jacoby, CEO of Volvo suffered a mild stroke, but it recovering while taking a temporary medical leave from his duties. Jacoby joined Volvo in 2010 after being a former employee of Volkswagen. Now at age 54, Jacoby is under medical supervision and is focusing on rest and exercise to get back to work as soon as possible. Jan Gurander, current CFO of Volvo is serving as acting CEO while Jacoby is recovering.

New York City’s Taxi and Limousine Commission voted to make the Nissan NV200 van the city’s next official taxi. Set to begin in 2013, the Nissan NV200 will start replacing older taxis in a move that will reduce carbon emissions in the city. This van will be powered by a 2.0 liter four cylinder engine, making the Nissan NV200 more efficient than current taxis.

On Thursday September 20th at 8 a.m., a Chrysler employee stabbed a male co-worker at the Jefferson North assembly plant located in Detroit Michigan. Sgt. Alan Quinn of the Detroit Police Department informed reporters that the suspect fled the factory and went to Belle Isle Park where he then committed suicide.
