Stefan Jacoby, CEO of Volvo suffered a mild stroke, but it recovering while taking a temporary medical leave from his duties. Jacoby joined Volvo in 2010 after being a former employee of Volkswagen. Now at age 54, Jacoby is under medical supervision and is focusing on rest and exercise to get back to work as soon as possible. Jan Gurander, current CFO of Volvo is serving as acting CEO while Jacoby is recovering.
“I was lucky that it was a mild stroke. I am currently experiencing limited movement abilities in my right arm, and to some extent, also in my right leg. I have started to recuperate and already notice certain improvement,” a quote taken from Jacoby’s statement sometime after the incident.
