Chevrolet claims that collectively, owners of Volt range-extended EV’s have driven over 100 million miles on nothing but all-electric power. Chevy says, if charged regularly, the average Volt owner gets approximately 900 miles out of a single tank of gas. Volt owners who charge up regularly can save around $1,370 a year compared to the fuel usage of the average new vehicle sold in the States.

Hitting a new record for the month of November, and with a few weeks to go, hit a new overall record for the year, Hyundai seems to be doing something right.  This news was announced on Tuesday, December 3rd on Twitter by Hyundai Motor America CEO John Krafcik who confirms that the Korean automaker’s US division had moved 645,692 units for 2012 so far, “breaking out all-time sales record set last year.” Thanks in part to the addition of two new models the Elantra Coupe and Elantra GT, sales were strong for the Sonata, and the Elantra, which saw an increase of 28 percent in November.

Former General Motors engineer, Shanshan Du, and her husband have been accused and found guilty of conspiring to sell GM trade secrets to Chinese automaker Chery Automobile Co. The accusations that Du was found guilty of consisted of the following: conspiracy to posses trade secrets without authorization, and two counts of unauthorized possession of trade secrets.

In what seems like a very bitter divorce, Lotus claims that ex-CEO Dany Bahar spent company money on his extravagant personal lifestyle therefore is retaliating with a lawsuit. According to Lotus, Bahar left the company with bills for his chauffeur, helicopter travel, and 10 luxurious wristwatches.

Nissan has created a special one-of-a-kind Nissan Juke Batman Edition as a tribute to the release of the latest Christopher Nolan blockbuster in the Batman series, The Dark Knight Rises. Nissan will be giving this car away to the winner of their Built to Thrill campaign in conjunction with the release of the film on Blu-Ray in the UK.
