Top Gear Magazine’s Car of the Year is the Toyota GT86

Winning another major accolade, the amazing Toyota GT86 was named Top Gear Magazine’s 2012 Car of the year. The GT86 must have what it takes to convince Top Gear to be their winner because these guys know a thing or two about cars.

Toyota‘s affordable sports car was also Jeremy Clarkson’s personal Car of the Year and the TopGear Coupe of the Year. They are just amazed by how much fun the GT86 is when paying no where near as much as other sports cars. While driving the car in TG’s latest DVD, Clarkson pointed out that in the GT86 you can be Ken Block on every single roundabout.

TopGear editor Charlie Turner said: “This is a fantastic achievement, for a car to win a TopGear Award is recognition of a truly exceptional vehicle. Only the remarkable are considered for a TopGear Award and this year the GT86 has proved to be the stand-out machine.”

Sam Philip, senior writer of TopGear added: “For driving thrills, this is my sort of performance car. Good steering, nice crisp gear change, revvy engine. You can find its limits, slide it around, without fear of being inadvertently deposited in a loch…”
