After being test driven by FedEx, Nissan is now lending one of their e-NV200 to Coca-Cola so that the company can evaluate it as a delivery vehicle. Coca-Cola Central Japan Co., Ltd. will be using this all electric cargo van as a regional sales vehicle in Yokohama. To evaluate whether or not one night of charging is sufficient for a days worth of typical usage, the van will only be plugged in overnights.
The e-NV200 combines the all-electric powertrain found in the Nissan Leaf with Nissan’s already successful NV200 utility vehicle to provide an emissions-free delivery van. While Coca Cola is using this vehicle, Nissan will use their feedback to tweak the e-NV200 before it goes on sale sometime in late 2013 or early 2014.
