In “Back to the Future Part II”, when Marty McFly and “Doc” Brown took us for a second cinematic trip back and forth into time, many of the people lucky enough to be kids when this movie came out dreamed that by 2015, cars would indeed fly. Although we have all grown up since then, the kid that lives deep down inside of everyone who has seen this movie would still like to believe this is possible.

Two factory Jaguar XJ all-wheel drive models have taken a 2,000 mile round trip journey to the coldest city on the plant. The trip started at the capital of the Yukon, Whitehorse, and the expedition into the Arctic Circle was documented by the British automaker, whom was trying to show off the XJ’s performance in the record cold weather.

The Volkswagen Group cut the ribbon on a new engine plant in Silao in Guanajuato, a central Mexican state on Tuesday, January 15th. The opening of this particular factory just so happened to make a new milestone for the German automaker as the Silao facility is the group’s 100th worldwide plant.

At the 2013 Detroit Motor Show, the Cadillac ELR luxury electric car finally came out of the shadows and showed itself to the public on Tuesday January 15th. The Tesla Roadster has shown us that you don’t have to compromise on speed to go green, and now the ELR is arguing that you don’t have to compromise on luxury either.

The Cadillac ATS was named the 2013 North American Car of the Year as a kick off of the Detroit Auto Show on Monday January 14th. In competition with Cadillac over the title was the Honda Accord and the Ford Fusion, but it’s hard to argue against the decision. Although the Accord and Fusion are both well received new models, the ATS is arguably the new benchmark for the compact luxury sedan.
