Nissan has just recently confirmed the world premiere of a new concept crossover named the Resonance for the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 15th. Included in the one, darkened rendering of the vehicle, Nissan issued the following statement about the Resonance study:
“The Resonance is the latest in a series of envelope-pushing crossover designs from Nissan, fusing bold, breakthrough styling with hybrid-electric powertrain technology.”
Even though Nissan won’t go into details at this time, it looks as though the Resonance hints at the styling direction for the next generation Murano, which is expected to be introduced in 2014. In terms of its hybrid powertrain, there is a possibility that this car is equipped with Nissan’s new supercharged 2.5-liter gasoline engine mated to a compact CVT package that incorporates a single motor and two clutches plus a lithium-ion battery.
