Jeff Gordon Fined $100K and 25 points for Fighting

Jeff Gordon was fined $100,000 and 25 point for his deliberate retaliation toward Clint Bowyer during Sunday’s AdvoCare 500 at the Phoenix International Raceway. “I take responsibility for my action on the racetrack. I accept NASCAR’s decision and look forward to ending the season on a high note at Homestead,” said Gordon.

After Bowyer bumped his car during the race, Gordon retaliated and incurred a fine and penalty from NASCAR. Some speculated that in light of his actions, Gordon might be suspended from the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday. This obviously turned out not to be the case when NASCAR passed down the decision quickly on Monday, November 12th.
