On Tuesday February 12th, Honda announced its Fit EV will be available at select Honda dealerships in Massachusettls, Connecticut, Maryland, New York and New Jersey before the end of the month.
“Expanding the availability of the ultra-efficient Fit EV to the East Coast is the next logical step in Honda‘s strategic and customer-focused approach to growing the market for low-CO2, sustainable mobility technologies,” said Steve Center, vice president of the American Honda Environmental Business Development Office.
The Honda Fit EV, which was originally launched in July 2012 in California and Oregon, will be limited to just 1,100 units in the U.S. initially, and is available only as a three-year lease at a price of $389 a month. Powered by an electric motor with 123 hp and generates 189 lb-ft of torque with a 118-MPGe rating, Honda will undoubtly attract new customers to the Fit EV with the expansion to the East Coast.
