In honor of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes pit crew for making the world’s fastest Formula 1 pit stop, timepiece maker TAG Heuer has gifted each pit crew member with a Carrera Day-Date chronograph. The crew, which contained 25 member, were responsible for the first-ever sub 2.500-second pit stop in the world, and will be reminded of that feat on the timepieces given to them by TAG Heuer.
Not only is TAG Heuer the official timekeeper and watch for the team, but they had the back of each chronograph engraved with “world record pitstop – first sub 2.500-seconds.”
“This record is incredible, not only the performance itself but also because it shows how Vodafone McLaren Mercedes is looking to master time and precision as does TAG Heuer! As a partner for more than 25 years, we are really proud of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes’ performance,” said Jean-Christophe Babin, President and CEO of Tag Heuer.
The team has been recognized with achieving the fastest pit stops for seven races in a row, and you can see them in action in the video below of them making the record setting pit stop.
