Car Charging Stations That Take Less Than 2 hours?

Volvo is testing out a new fast-charging station that will put charging times under two hours for their C30 model electric car that is available in Europe.

“…If you don’t have enough time for an 1.5 hour charge, plugging if for just 30 minutes will give your enough power for another 80 kilometers of driving,” Lennart Stegland, vice president of electric propulsion systems at Volvo said.

While providing three phase charging capability, the charger is noteworthy for being small enough to fit on board the car. In comparison, plugging in to a regular European 230 V outlet will take eight to ten hours to get the vehicle to a full charge.
