Although winning automotive awards is nice, it can’t compare to receiving the unique honor of being named to the list of the top 50 most innovative companies in the world. Audi has been given the award for its efforts in autonomous driving, the officially-named list of “50 Disruptive Companies” is compiled by a jury at the MIT Technology Review.
Audi Earlier this year, showcased its new ‘piloted driving project’ at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which combines adaptive cruise control and a new land guidance system, which uses two radar sensors, a laser scanner and eight ultrasonic sensors that can watch the road 820 feet ahead and over an angle of 35-degrees with video camera to detect objects in the road.
“We are greatly honored to be included in the group of the world’s most innovative companies,” said Audi Board of Management Chairman Rupert Stadler. “It shows that Audi is well equipped for the future.”
Other companies that joined Audi on the list are well-known technology innovators such as Samsung, GE, and Apple.
