A video appeared earlier this month on the internet that showed a camo’d car testing in the Gran Turismo 5 video game. It turns out the car was the new Corvette and the video was for real. Chevy confirms that the 2014 Corvette is offered in GT5 as a free download, but it will be still heavily camouflaged.
Even though you won’t be able to see it, you will still be able to virtually drive it, and hear the sound of its brand-new V8 engine. This is a first-of-its-kind driving experience for a yet to be released car available in a video game. The most popular car game of all time, Gran Turismo and Chevrolet teamed up to offer the fans an authentic driving experience in the seventh-generation Corvette prototype. The real Chevy Corvette C7 will be released in Detroit during January of 2013.
“Until now, only the most skilled drivers on the Corvette team have been authorized to push the test prototypes to the limits on some of the most challenging track surfaces in the world,” said Chris Perry, vice president of Chevrolet Global Marketing. “Through this unique collaboration with Gran Turismo, Chevrolet is able, for the first time, to give performance car enthusiasts access to such an exclusive driving experience.”
