Chevrolet claims that collectively, owners of Volt range-extended EV’s have driven over 100 million miles on nothing but all-electric power. Chevy says, if charged regularly, the average Volt owner gets approximately 900 miles out of a single tank of gas. Volt owners who charge up regularly can save around $1,370 a year compared to the fuel usage of the average new vehicle sold in the States.
Other than just saving money, the Volt has also been rated number one in Consumer Reports satisfaction survey, which shown that those that do spring for a Chevy Volt like it a lot. Above and beyond having an all-electric range of 38 miles, the Volt’s gas-powered generator will kick in for power, which is said to be good for 344 miles on a full tank.
