The Justice League Kia Collection is Finally Finished

The day finally came were Kia and DC Entertainment revealed all five of their Justice League superhero cars at the 2012 SEMA show. These cars were made to support DC’s “We Can Be Heroes” campaign, which tries to fight hunger in Africa. These cars will certainly grab a lot of attention with their characters and styling.

The cars in these pictures are of the flash-themed Kia Forte Koup, the Batman Optima, Cyrborg Forte hatchback, Aquaman Rio, and the Green Lantern Soul. Involved in creating these cars are big names such as RIDES, West Coast Customs, and Super Street. To get a better look at the cars, check out our gallery located at the bottom of this post.

“It was a thrill to see cars based upon my Justice League artwork and sketched revealed at SEMA,” commented Jim Lee, co-publisher of DC Entertainment. “I have to tip my hat to the teams at West Coast Customs, RIDES and Super Street on their innovative work creating cars that represent iconic characters like Green Lantern, Cyborg, Aquaman, and Flash- all to benefit a great cause, ‘We Can Be Heroes’, and I’d like to thank Kia Motors America for supporting ‘We Can Be Heroes’.”

Jaguar Promotes New XF Sportbrake by Designing Matching Speedboat

As of a few weeks ago, Jaguar released the new XF Sportsbrake, and to help promote this new model, Jaguar unveiled a speedboat concept to inspire buyers of the estate model as well as showcase the brand’s design DNA on a completely different product.

“We recognize that both our existing and future customers enjoy diverse and active lifestyles. With the launch of the new Jaguar XF Sportbrake, we had and opportunity to create a vision of how our design philosophy might be applied to an alternative product, in which speed and beauty are also priorities,” explained Jaguar Directory of Design, Ian Callum.

Jaguar consulted with yacht design specialist ‘Ivan Erdevicki Naval Architecture & Yacht Design’ and design project management company ‘Seventy Seven Design’ about their idea and proceeded with their plans to build the conceptual boat that had a length of 6.1 meters or 20 feet.

This stylish speedboat sports a get coat fiberglass hull finished on top with a natural teak decking, which is split by a carbon fiber fin, said to be inspired by the Jaguar D-Type. The fuel filler capes of the speedboat imitate those used on the Series 1 XJ.

Callum states “The Concept Speedboat looks powerful. It follows, in so many ways, the idea of a traditional speedboat but with the sleek and fast characteristics that you would expect from a Jaguar Car.”

An Update of Hurricane Sandy

Hurricane Sandy continues to wreck havoc on the eastern seaboard of the U.S. The storm recently has taken the lives of at least 16 people in the states as well as one in Canada, which makes the death toll 67. Not only that but, Sandy has cut power to more than 7 million people and caused massive floods in many states.

In addition, Hurricane Sandy brought down several popular websites in the New York area including automotive websites such as The Huffington Post, Mediate, and Buzzfeed.

The crew from the car blogging website,  Jalopnik are now posting through their Facebook and Twitter accounts as well as their website live.Jalopnik.com updates on the storm. The picture shown above is from their website of a Bentley Continental GTC Convertible, most likely in the streets, which really looks like a river stream, of New York City early this morning.

Top 10 Weirdest Laws for the Road

Driving laws are made for a reason and for the most part, they seem appropriate. But the 10 laws listed below make you think why they became a law in the first place. Coming from a national scale, these bizarre laws below were actually passed and make you wonder why they are still in place today.

1.   Don’t Try to Be a Magician. Even though this seems like an obvious statements, Alabama law enforcement must have had a problem with drivers trying to be magicians, because they made a law saying every driver must not operate their vehicle blindfolded.
2.   Not Too Keen on Pickup Trucks. Apparently the town of Park Ridge, Illinois doesn’t like to have too many trucks on the road. While this law is most likely ignored, it is illegal for your truck to be parked along the curbs or parking spots around stores and are only allowed to be parked in closed garages.
3.   Don’t Show Off. No one likes the sound of screeching tires going up their street, but this rings true even more so in Derby, Kansas. If you are caught screeching your tires in this town for a prolonged period of time, you could potentially get put behind bars for 30 days.
4.   No Cursing, Please. Maybe the people of Rockville, Maryland are trying to cut down on road rage, who knows, but they have a law that states any driver who is caught swearing from their car could be subject to a misdemeanor.
5.   Leave That Driver’s Horn Alone.  Though on record and mostly likely impossible to to from another vehicle, it is illegal to honk someone else’s horn in University City, Missouri.
6.   Give Cold Cuts Their Due Proper. The restaurant and deli industry in Little Rock, Arkansas must have had a bad history with car horns, especially after 9 p.m. Whatever the reasoning may have been, there is a law that makes it illegal for anyone to honk outside of an establishment that serves drinks and sandwiches after 9 p.m.
7.   This One’s Made for the Stunt Men/Women. California passed a law detailing that it is illegal for any driver to bail out of their car when going 65 miles per hour or more.
8.   Ice Cream Drivers Must Be Incognito. Some government official or neighborhood watch leader in the town of Indianola, Iowa must have had a few choice words for ice cream trucks and their annoying jingle interrupting their Sunday dinner because ice cream trucks are barred from operating along the roads.
9.   Make Sure Your Car is Spotless. Having your car clean is taken to an extreme in Minnetonka, Minnesota where if your car starts to flake off dry mud along the road or looks caked in dirt, you could be subject to a ticket.
10.  Don’t Drive Without The Essentials. There is a law in Youngstown, Ohio stating that a driver is subject to a citation if their car runs our of gas.
